I’m Ellie. I love the South. I think Michelle Williams and Adele are flawless. I have a slight obsession with Matthew Gray Gubler. My ideal self would be styled on trend while cooking yummy meals in between my trips to fabulous places (all while in some type of leopard print). In reality, however, I’m just trying to make it (all while in some type of leopard print.) Did I mention I love leopard print? I am the editor of a Mississippi magazine called Mud & Magnolias and I do a little design on the side.
Here is a little Q & A:
What inspires you daily? I surround myself with awesome people, I look at beautiful things whether in a magazine, on a blog or Pinterest and finally I have the greatest little niece who I hope one day sees she has potential to do great things with hard work.
What keeps you going during the work day? On occasion, I have someone write in or call telling me they love the product I pour my life into and that can keep me going for weeks, but really the Of Monster and Men Pandora station is always playing in my office and I can’t be denied happiness. If I am really lucky, Coldplay’s “Fix You” will make an appearance on the playlist and that sets the day off the charts.
Ideal weekend get-away? I am a beach lover through and through, so I would opt for that first, but it would have to be longer than a weekend. That isn’t enough time to get my feet wet. So I have to opt for a weekend in Memphis. I love that place and can’t always explain why. It embodies the right amount of diversity with the right amount of Southern charm and I love it. Plus, one of my best friends lives there, so girl time is an added bonus.
Big or Aidan (stolen from theeverygirl.com)? Big. Everyday of the week. I’m not into hippies. I am, however, into low-key businessmen. Hello, Mr. Big.
Favorite Movie: Steel Magnolias, though I don’t watch it much because I hate to cry over a movie. Oh, and I’m a sucker for Iron Man.
Favorite TV Show: Scandal is No.1, but I’m a TV junkie. I love New Girl, The Mindy Project, Modern Family, Nashville, Revenge and The Client List. I also have a guilty pleasure of Khloe and Lamar. Don’t judge me.
Favorite Book: Grace, a memoir of Grace Coddington, the creative director of Vogue. She is a fascinating woman. I also read junk like Hunger Games, 50 Shades, Twilight and girly books. Feel free to judge me on this one.
Chosen last meal: My late grandmother’s recipe of Tator Tot Casserole. But I’d also gladly take spaghetti, tacos or a dipped cone from McDonalds.
Life Motto: In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.–Robert Frost
